Hi Friends! Sorry for the delay in posts. I go all four of my wisdom teeth removed on Thursday and decided to take it easy over the last couple of days. What good is my advice of taking breaks and giving yourself grace if I don’t take it myself, right? I’m not fully back to 100%, but I’m ready to get back to writing.
This week’s recommendations is a random bunch, but let’s get to it!
- My first recommendation is to get one of those single-serving blenders. I have the Bella brand one (Macy’s has this brand too) and I think it works perfectly fine. Around Black Friday the Bella appliances drop down to less than $20, and that’s when you’ll want to grab them! Other higher end brands like Nutribullet and Ninja probably have great single-serving blenders as well. After getting my teeth removed, I have been drinking a smoothie every day to get some nutrients in. With the blender, there’s less clean up because you can drink the smoothie right out of the blender cup! Plus, it’s so easy to just pulse or hold down the blender cup to blend everything together. I think with the Bella set there were multiple cup lids and various travel cups that you could transfer your smoothie to, but I just stick to the blender cup and drink it right after I blend. I haven’t tried making anything other than smoothies in there, but I’m not opposed to trying!
*Life hack (even though it shouldn’t be one): wash/rinse the smoothie cup and blender blades right after you use it. When you let it sit and dry a little bit, that’s when it’s harder to clean and you get caked-on gunk left behind. If you rinse the cup and blades right after you blend, everything comes right off and it’s easier to go in with the soapy sponge afterwards.
- Five words – Red Lobster Cheddar Bay biscuits. A breakfast lifesaver!! The pre-made mix is SO quick to put together and the baking time is also fast. The great thing about this mix is that you can adjust the amount of cheese or add in other toppings to the biscuits that you normally wouldn’t get in the restaurant. I’ve added in shredded cheddar and mozzarella, bacon bits, and I’m thinking chopped chives would be great in the batter as well. If you need a quick dish to bring to a potluck, you can whip up two boxes of these and be ready to go in 25 minutes tops! They are delicious, fluffy, and moist on the inside. However, fair warning for my friends who are watching their calories and fat content, these are yummy for a reason! When you follow the box’s instructions, there is a ½ stick of butter melted on top of these biscuits, and ¾ cups of cheese throughout. These biscuits are heavenly and sinful at the same time.
- My final recommendation is Netflix’s new Christmas movie for this holiday season, Love Hard. It’s about a writer to travels across the country to meet the man who she met on an online dating app, and really likes. But, when she gets to her destination, she finds that he is not who he said he is. It’s a very cute story about self love, confidence, and even ties in family relationships. I must admit that it is a bit corny, but what holiday movie isn’t! If you have an hour and a half to spare while wrapping gifts, you’ll want to play this movie in the background.
There are my recommendations for this week – short and sweet, as always. Some may be new to you, and some may be old news. If you have any other recs or try my recommendations, let me know! Until next time…
