It’s a crossover of the two best seasons of the year, Summer and Cancer season! With everyone out and about, I bet you have your staple items you can’t leave the house without. After the crazy year that was 2020, then the year we were tip toe-ing around in 2021, it seems like everyone forgot about COVID in 2022 and we are back outside living our best lives.
My time in COVID quarantine made me reflect on the high hopes I had for the break. When I got back to my summer, I wanted to be able to do the things I want to do without anything getting in my way. That’s why I chose these three items as my summer accessory staples!
My Summer Accessory Staples
- Cute sunglasses: How are we supposed to see all the beautiful summer colors with the sun in our eyes?! This summer we are making sure to put on our sunscreen and protecting our eyes. I scored these sunglasses from QUAY in Las Vegas last summer in a BOGO sale. QUAY sunglasses make flattering frames that fit any facial structure. They also have very cute thick-framed sunglasses to match the trends this year. What I love most about QUAY is that you can get cute sunglasses with polarized frames for an affordable price. These sunglasses are polarized, and it makes a huge difference! Always go for polarized if the opportunity presents itself. When I’m out in the sun, I won’t let the glare get in the way of my summer activities!
- Claw hair clips: Listen, of all the trends coming back from the 90’s and early 00’s, I’m so glad that claw clips are in. They are versatile, add a little sprinkle of sophistication to any look, AND gets your hair out of your face! What I’ve learned while embracing this trend is that I don’t need to drop a lot of money to buy myself claw clips either; stores like Amazon, TJ Maxx, Ross, and Marshalls have a wide array of cute clips and even sets of multiple clips for a decent price. If you see me this summer, my hair will most likely be in a cute claw clip and out of my way.
- Fanny pack/waist bag: I feel like fanny packs are the accessory of the SUMMER! I just bought my first one and I’m in love. Not only is it perfect for storing only my wallet, phone, and keys, it keeps me hands-free! I have been a ‘purse girl’ since I was in preschool, stuffing random trinkets and journals in my little Sanrio purses I begged my parents to get me.
- I’ve seen my friends use fanny packs and waist bags on their trips and I was influenced to buy myself one. Thankfully, Amazon has many different styles for a deal. I was able to try out this fanny pack and it is so versatile. I can wear it on my waist or across my body, and it’s still cute. I love that I don’t need to swing my bag around when I walk, and I don’t need to worry about hanging it on the back of my chair when I’m sitting in a restaurant. I was afraid that I wasn’t going to use the waist bag much, but to my surprise it’s what I keep my items in for almost every outing. It’s perfect for farmers markets, beach outings, picnics, traveling, taking your hot girl walk outside, music festivals, concerts (if bags are permitted), shopping, and more. A waist bag/fanny pack will be your new best friend, I promise!
After being locked up inside for practically all of June, I was excited to get out of the house in July. You can catch me with my sunglasses on, claw clip in, and fanny pack on, living my best warm-weather life. Happy cancer season to you all, and I hope you’re all having a great summer! Until next time.
